SEATTLE (AP) — Police say the suspicious package outside a south Seattle bank was an incendiary device.

Spokeswoman Rene Witt says it failed to go off. She says no one has claimed responsibility for the attempted fire-bombing.

KOMO Radio reports a box with bottles and wires was reported about 6:30 a.m. Friday by a couple using the ATM at a Bank of America branch at south Othello and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Police closed the Sound Transit light rail line at Othello and blocked the street as a precaution as the bomb squad sent a robot to the package.

Street traffic at the scene and Sound Transit light rail service between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport were disrupted.

Things were moving again by 9 a.m.
