Clark College swept an NWAACC basketball doubleheader Wednesday against Green River at the O’Connell Center.
At Clark College men 73, Green River 65 — Austin Bragg and Blake Bowen each scored 17 points as the Penguins built a big lead and held on down the stretch for the victory.
Bragg also had 12 rebounds as Clark posted a 41-30 advantage on the glass.
Clark was up 40-35 at halftime and pushed the lead up to 18 points before Green River got back into the game.
“We didn’t play smart basketball,” Clark coach Mike Arnold said. “With an 18-point lead, you can take your time. You don’t have to be in a hurry. We missed quick shots, and they made some threes.”
Arnold praised his team’s defense and rebounding, but saw plenty of room for improvement.
“We need to work on closing teams out,” he said. “We need to work on execution down the stretch.”
Clark (13-1, 3-0 NWAACC West) missed three front ends of one-and-one opportunities late, Arnold said.
At Clark College women 75, Green River 57 — Deborah Simmers had 22 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals as the Penguins rolled.

The Clark men and women (10-3) are back in action Saturday at Lower Columbia.
