The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what it describes as an apparent suicide near Yale Bridge on Highway 503 in north Clark County.

A CCSO bulletin said deputies responded to a reported death at a roadside turnout near the bridge at about 9:15 a.m. Thursday. They found a parked vehicle with a single male occupant inside who appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit investigated the circumstances of the death, as is standard policy in such cases, the bulletin said. The remains were secured by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s office; an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

The subject’s identity is being withheld pending family notification, the bulletin said.
