BEND, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission votes Jan. 25 on whether to grant scenic status to a 36-miles bicycle route between Bend and Tumalo.

If approved, it would be the fourth state scenic bikeway in central Oregon.

The Bulletin reports (http://is.gd/ZWBIkz ) Bicycle Rides Northwest is offering to donate nearly $6,000 for 32 signs to mark the route through Deschutes County. Riders will pass through ponderosa pines and sagebrush while catching views of mountains.
