SEATTLE (AP) — Washington has plucked another coach from the staff at California, making Eric Kiesau the Huskies’ new offensive coordinator.

Kiesau’s hiring was announced Wednesday. He’ll replace Doug Nussmeier who is expected to take the same position at Alabama after serving as the Huskies’ offensive coordinator the past three seasons.

Kiesau served as the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at California last season. Prior to that, he spent five seasons at Colorado, serving as offensive coordinator for the final two. He was at California for four years before that.

Kiesau is the second coach plucked away from California this week by the Huskies. On Monday, Washington announced the hiring of Tosh Lupoi as the new defensive line coach. He served in the same capacity at Cal.
