Old Dominion defeats Northeastern 69-57

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Trian Iliadis scored 18 and Chris Cooper added 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Old Dominion over Northeastern 69-57 on Monday night.

The Monarchs (12-9, 7-2 Colonial Athletic Association) also got 12 points from Donte Hill and 10 rebounds from Kent Bazemore. Old Dominion outrebounded the Huskies 40-34.

The Monarchs led 28-25 at halftime and held Northeastern to 36.7 percent from the field (11 of 30) in the second half.

Northeastern cut it to two, 49-47, with 6:50 remaining, but Old Dominion went on a 15-3 run over the next 5:53 to secure its sixth win in seven games. Iliadis’ free throws capped the spurt, putting the Monarchs up 64-50.

Both teams turned it over 17 times, with Old Dominion scoring 18 points off those miscues and the Huskies 10.

Northeastern (9-10, 5-4) was led by Quincy Ford with 18 points and Jonathan Lee with 13.
