Ryan Denny scored a lay-up off a pass from Andy Hak to lift, clinching a berth to the bi-district tournament for the Falcons.

Prairie overcame five second-half 3-pointers by Trent Johnson, who finished with 22 points. Johnson also hit a half-court 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Camas a 28-24 halftime lead.

Both teams traded baskets late when Nathan Cherzan’s lay-up tied the game at 48-48 with a minute to play.

On Camas’ next possession, Hak stole the ball, went down court and dished the ball to Denny for the go-ahead basket with five second left. Camas’ attempt at a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark.

Cherzan led Prairie with 12 points, while Denny had 11 and Preston Brooks added 10. The Falcons (13-5, 7-3 3A GSHL) can finish no worse than third place in the 3A GSHL. The top four teams from the league will advance to the bi-district tournament next month.
