SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A hit-and-run victim in Spokane has died of his injuries.

Dennis Burgess was struck at about 2 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Market Avenue and Providence Street. Police confirmed Sunday that he had died.

Burgess was found after someone called police to report finding a person lying the road. Shortly afterward, a Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a speeding car at Hawthorne Road and Market that appeared to have been involved in an accident.

The driver, 21-year-old Hannah K. Hahn, was booked into the Spokane County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault.
