A 47-year-old Vancouver woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of kidnapping a 1 1/2 -year-old girl from a Fruit Valley apartment, police said.

Julie Richtmyre was arrested on suspicion of second-degree kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and harassment, said Vancouver police Officer Missy Skeeter.

Skeeter said Richtmyre, while baby-sitting a 3-year-old girl in the Fruit Valley apartment complex, went into another apartment in that complex and took the 1 1/2 -year-old back to her apartment.

The mother of the younger girl realized her daughter was gone and went to Richt-myre’s apartment, where a fight broke out. The mother got her 1 1/2 -year-old back. Skeeter said the women know each other.

Then, Skeeter said, Richt-myre took off in her Toyota with the 3-year-old; police, thinking she was with a kidnapped child, stopped her and arrested her about 7 p.m. at 57th Avenue and Fourth Plain Boulevard.

Richtmyre was in the Clark County Jail on Monday night with bail not allowed.

Police did not provide the name or address of the apartment complex.
