The Columbia River Economic Development Council has hired Peter King as director of business recruitment and project finance.

King, with a background in commercial real estate, will be responsible for the economic development organization’s business recruitment efforts, the Vancouver-based nonprofit said. Those include assisting business and public partners in project financing and participating in economic development initiatives.

King will also be involved with the council’s assistance to existing businesses, the CREDC said in a statement.

King worked for Kidder Mathews and NAI Norris, Beggs & Simpson where he was recognized as one of the top new deal makers in the market in 2003 by the Commercial Association of Realtors.

He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Colorado State University and an undergraduate degree from Oregon State University. He is married with three children.
