GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Matt Pegler pitched a two-hitter, Daniel Aldrich homered and College of Charleston eliminated Bethune-Cookman with an 8-2 victory Saturday in the Gainesville Regional.

Pegler (10-2) pitched his first complete game and struck out a career-high nine.

Aldrich also hit an RBI double and single as the Cougars (38-21) advanced to play the loser of Saturday night’s game between Georgia Tech and top-seeded Florida.

The Wildcats (34-27) went 14 1-3 innings before getting their first hit in the NCAA tournament. They were no-hit by Florida’s Jonathon Crawford on Friday and went five-plus innings Saturday before Carlos Delgado’s grounder up the middle ricocheted off the second-base bag for a single. Josh Johnson followed with a two-run homer.
