Three people complained of neck and back pain and two cars were totaled in a three-vehicle wreck in Proebstel on Monday.

The Washington State Patrol and Vancouver Fire Department responded to the accident, which was reported at 12:19 p.m. at Milepost 9 on state Highway 500, which is known as Fourth Plain Road in that area.

Troopers said Robert D. Kenline, 83, of Brush Prairie was eastbound driving a Ford Taurus and approaching Northeast 182nd Avenue when he attempted a left turn and struck a westbound Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Henry A. Reece, 39, of Vancouver. The force of the collision spun the PT Cruiser into an Acura MDX driven by Jana G. Lewis, 45, of Vancouver, who had been stopped in the eastbound lane behind the Ford.

Kenline, Reece and Reece’s passenger, Russell D. Matson, 56, of Vancouver, were all taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for treatment.

The younger men were treated and released. Kenline was evaluated in the emergency department late Monday afternoon but was not in the hospital later Monday night.

Kenline will be ticketed for failing to yield, according to the state patrol.
