Letter: Organization offers vets free flights

The Columbian
Published: June 7, 2012, 5:00pm

It is not well known, but the non-profit organization Honor Flight Network will fly any World War II veteran free to Washington, D.C., to see the World War II memorial (http://www.honorflight.org/).

I had the great pleasure of making the trip over the Memorial Day weekend. I don’t have the space to put down all the things we did during that trip, but if someone would like to call, I would be happy to fill them in. It’s an opportunity no vet should miss.
