NEW YORK (AP) — Trainer Christophe Clement extended his winning streak at sweltering Belmont Park on Wednesday, winning the $77,000 allowance feature on the turf with Barocci.

Clement has won at least one race on each of the last five Belmont cards. Bred in Japan, Barocci shrugged off temperatures that soared to the mid-90s to log his first win in the U.S. and second in nine career starts. The 4-year-old ridden by Julien Leparoux ran 1 1/4 miles in 2:01.26, rallying from seventh to beat Kanagaro by one length

Barocci paid $4.80, $3.40 and $2.50 as the 7-5 favorite. Kanagaro returned $6.40 and $3.50, while Change of Command paid $2.60 to show.
