PORTLAND — Portland police arrested a 24-year-old man suspected of driving the SUV that injured a Rose Quarter security guard in a hit-and-run in a parking lot.

The guard, 44-year-old Elizabeth Forcia of Aurora, Ore., was checking on the suspicious vehicle Tuesday morning when the driver ran her down and fled. The fleeing car crashed into a utility pole and the man ran off on foot.

Forcia was treated at a hospital and released.

The suspect was tracked to a home, where he was arrested. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of assault, hit-and-run and driving under the influence.
