OSLO, Norway (AP) — Austria’s Martin Koch won his third ski jump World Cup event of the year Sunday.
Koch was fourth after the first round but moved into the lead after jumping 130.5 meters on the large hill in Holmenkollen in the second round for a total score of 247.3. Severin Freund of Germany finished second with 238.9 points, while Robert Kranjec of Slovenia was third with 238.0.
Japan’s Daiki Ito, who won the past two World Cup events, took the lead after the first round but wound up fourth with 237.7 points.
Anders Bardal of Norway, who finished 10th, remains at the top of the overall standings with 1,295 points with two competitions remaining. Austria’s Gregor Schlierenzauer is in second place with 1,172 while Andreas Kofler of Austria is third with 1,127.
