Clark baseball sweeps Blue Mountain

The Clark College baseball team swept a doubleheader from Blue Mountain on Sunday in Pendleton, Ore., winning 7-3 and 4-2.

Clark (6-2) pushed across the go-ahead run of the 4-2 win in the sixth inning. Nick Woods hit a two-out double that scored Bud Collura, and then scored one batter later on an error.

Ryan Schockey was the winning pitcher for Clark, going five innings with five strikeouts.

In the 7-3 win, Clark went ahead 7-0 before Blue Mountain got on the scoreboard.

Parker Franklin’s three-run triple got it going in the second inning for Clark, which had 12 hits. Jordan Van Atta was 3 for 3 with two doubles.

Cory Niten took the win, throwing five innings with three strikeouts.
