WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — A leader of a group of vacation home owners who have been fighting Grant County PUD orders to leave a Columbia River island has died.

Police say 61-year-old Douglas Caton of East Wenatchee apparently suffered a heart attack or other fatal medical condition as he was driving Monday morning. His car ran off an East Wenatchee road and he was found slumped over the wheel.

The Wenatchee World reports (http://is.gd/8OfuJM) Caton owned two vacation homes on Crescent Bar Island and has been a spokesman for leaseholders in their lawsuit against the utility district.
