C-Tran open houses to focus on fare increases

A series of public meetings will focus on proposed C-Tran fare increases.

The agency has proposed raising most cash fares by 5 cents starting Sept. 1. It would raise the price of a single adult C-Zone fare to $1.65 and an adult all-zone fare to $2.50. The proposal increases the cost of a C-Zone day pass from $3.85 to $4; an Express pass would change from $6.70 to $7. A few prices, including fares for seniors, children and special events, would remain unchanged.

The first open house is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday during a citizens advisory committee meeting at C-Tran headquarters, 2425 N.E. 65th Ave.

Other meetings are at 5:30 p.m. April 3 at the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 164th Ave., and on April 5 at the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St. The time of that meeting has not been announced.
