SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Pablo Sandoval hit a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning Monday and the San Francisco Giants beat the Kansas City Royals 4-2.

Sandoval’s third homer of the spring came off Greg Holland. Justin Christian singled with two outs and Sandoval connected.

Ryan Vogelsong, who went 13-7 last year and was an NL All-Star, made his first start after twisting his back at the start of the spring. He gave up one run on two hits and struck out two in 2 2-3 innings.
