Mother’s Day should bring Clark County its warmest temperatures so far in 2012, according to the National Weather Service in Portland.
Sunday’s high is expected to climb to 88 degrees in Vancouver, under sunny skies, according to the weather service. That would best Saturday’s high of 84 degrees.
As many Southwest Washington residents head outdoors, the weather service has also issued a special statement urging caution in and around local waters. Rivers are running high and cold as snow melt continues, posing “significant danger” for recreational users, according to forecasters. Even as air temperature climbs, water temperatures in many rivers remain closer to 45 or 50 degrees — much cooler than in the height of summer.
Monday’s high temperature is expected to again reach the upper 80s before conditions cool off for the rest of the week. Highs should land mostly in the 70s, according to the weather service.
