MOSES LAKE, Wash. (AP) — The Grant County sheriff’s office says a 2-year-old Moses Lake boy who was hospitalized last week remains in critical condition on life support at a Spokane hospital.

The sheriff’s office says the case will require a great amount of investigative work.

The boy appeared severely malnourished when emergency responders arrived Wednesday at the home where the boy’s heart had stopped. They revived him and flew him to Providence-Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

The sheriff’s office says he weighed less than 10 pounds when he was admitted, compared to an average weight for a 2-year-old of around 40 pounds.

Four other children who lived at the home — a 14-year-old boy and three girls, ages 10, 7 and 4 — are in the custody of Child Protective Services.
