BURLINGTON, Wash. (AP) — Skagit County sheriff’s officers and divers have spent hours searching a gravel pit pond north of Burlington, Wash., for a teen who disappeared there while swimming with friends.
Sgt. Chris Kading said deputies were called shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday by three other teens who had been swimming with the 16-year-old boy.
They say their friend started to struggle and slipped beneath the water.
