Fircrest — Mona Peppard Jensen, 90, is legally blind, hard of hearing and walks with the aid of a cane. Despite these obstacles, Mona recently wrote and published her first book. “Buckrun” tells the story of generations of fictional characters in Oregon’s Coast Range, where Mona grew up. For years, Mona had a story in her head about these characters. When she was 85, her family bought her a computer with a screen for the visually impaired. She learned to use it and wrote the story. Last week, Mona donated a copy of her book to the Cascade Park Community Library. “Buckrun” is available on Amazon.com and Lulu.com.
