KELSO, Wash. (AP) — Cowlitz County, Wash., fire officials say a man mowing his lawn accidentally busted an above-ground natural gas line stub at the North Kelso Baptist Church.

Two firefighters with Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue donned protective gear and their self-contained breathing apparatus and managed to patch the line Tuesday evening until Cascade Natural Gas workers arrived.

Assistant Chief Alan Headley says no one was injured although nearby residents and people in a convenience store were evacuated briefly.
