LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The International Gymnastics Federation has banned a gymnast from Uzbekistan for six months for doping at the London Olympics.

The FIG says 20-year-old Luiza Galiulina is suspended through Jan. 30.

Galiulina tested positive in London for furosemide, a banned diuretic, in a urine sample taken two days before the games opened. She was not expected to contend for a medal.

The governing body says it ordered the Uzbekistan Gymnastics Federation to pay $2,100 toward the disciplinary hearing costs.

Galiulina and Uzbek officials can appeal within 21 days.
