LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Tyler Flack had 21 points and eight rebounds to help South Dakota to its first win of the season with an 81-69 victory over North Carolina Central on Friday afternoon in Wyoming’s Global Hoops Sports Showcase.

Karim Rowson and Juevol Myles each added 13 points for the Coyotes (1-2), who trailed 35-30 at the half. Jay Copeland finished with 18 points for the Eagles (2-3).

South Dakota tied it at 37 early in the second half on Myles’ 3-pointer, and took the lead on a pair of free throws from Rowson. The Coyotes extended the lead to 56-48 midway through the half on a 3-pointer from senior Jordan Boots, son of coach Dave Boots.

The Eagles closed to within 67-63 on Copeland’s layup and free throw with 5:33 left, but it was as close as they would come.
