SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — Alex Francis scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help Bryant claim its first win of the season in a 76-64 victory over New Hampshire on Saturday.

Dyami Starks finished with 17 points and Frankie Dobbs added 12 for the Bulldogs (1-2), who never trailed in the contest. Bryant scored the game’s first 12 points, highlighted by Starks’ 3-pointer and three-point play.

The Bulldogs had their lead trimmed to two points when New Hampshire forward Ferg Myrick made a 3-pointer with 5:50 left in the first half. But the Wildcats (2-1) pulled no closer as Bryant pushed its lead to 43-34 by halftime.

The Bulldogs maintained a double-digit lead for much of the second half, pulling ahead by as much as 16 points.

Myrick and Chris Pelcher each led New Hampshire with 12 points. Jordan Bronner had 11 points and Chandler Rhoads added 10.
