The Rev. Joyce Smith, pastor of Community AME, will host a welcome reception at the church, 3605 E. 13th St., following the check-up meeting. SEEKING DONATIONS for Carols by Candlelight, a Christmas event for adults and children Dec. 21 at Esther Short Park, Sixth and Esther streets, Vancouver. Activate Church wants to help Clark County residents have a warmer Christmas.
