3A GSHL football: Prairie 72, Fort Vancouver 0

The Columbian
Published: October 19, 2012, 5:00pm

Jacob Austin score three touchdowns scores and Tyler Duncan ran for more, all in a first quarter that saw the Falcons build a 37-0 lead.

Mike Montgomery caught a touchdown pass and Jason Bracken rushed for a touchdown of his own, coming on his lone carry of the game. Nick Gawley returned a punt return 57 yards later in the second quarter to take a 58-0 lead at halftime.

The Falcons must beat Kelso next week to stay in the playoff mix. A Prairie win and a Mountain View win over Columbia River would give the Falcons the No. 3 seed. A River win would set up a three-way tie for second place.

Jason Marti led the team in rushes, accumulating 56 yards on 13 attempts. Duncan led the team with 74 yards on only 5 carries and Austin ran for 51 yards on only 4 attempts.

Fort Vancouver rushed for 18 yards and passed for 3 for the game. Babacar Secka and Marquis Radford led the team with 16 yards on 1 carry and 15 yards on 3 carries, respectively.
