COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A person familiar with the move says Georgia Tech athletic director Dan Radakovich will become Clemson’s next AD.

The person spoke to The Associated Press Monday on condition of anonymity because neither school has officially announced the move. Clemson has scheduled a 2 p.m. press conference to introduce the successor to retiring Terry Don Phillips.

Radokovich has spent six years with the Yellow Jackets. He has also been an athletic administrator at South Carolina and LSU. Radakovich takes over an athletic program on the rise, led by the defending Atlantic Coast Conference football champions.

Phillips had spent the past 10 years in charge of Clemson athletics. He announced his retirement earlier this summer. Phillips agreed to continue until Clemson’s search for a replacement was complete.
