Bicyclist sent to hospital after east Vancouver crash

An 18-year-old bicyclist was sent to the hospital after being hit by a car near East Mill Plain Boulevard Thursday morning.

The crash was reported at 7:13 a.m. at Southeast 136th Avenue just south of Mill Plain.

Engine 8 with the Vancouver Fire Department responded. Crews found the man up and talking, said Capt. Dave James, fire department spokesman.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center as a precaution.

Vancouver police also responded.
