MISANO ADRIATICO, Italy (AP) — Honda’s Dani Pedrosa took pole position for the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix on Saturday ahead of MotoGP leader Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha.
Pedrosa clocked 1 minute, 33.857 seconds around the Misano circuit, with fellow Spaniard Lorenzo just 0.018 behind.
British rider Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha qualified third.
Lorenzo and Pedrosa are 1-2 in the standings, with Lorenzo 13 points ahead going into the 13th of 18 races.
LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl qualified fourth, San Carlo Honda’s Alvaro Bautista was fifth and seven-time world champion Valentino Rossi of Ducati was sixth.
German rider Sandro Cortese of KTM took the Moto 3 pole.
