Letter: Vote for Jon Haugen

The Columbian
Published: September 21, 2012, 5:00pm

The Democratic Party state convention did not endorse Jon Haugen for 3rd District representative. The reason: He advocates a toll-free bridge for the Columbia River Crossing. It simply doesn’t make sense to not endorse a viable and popular candidate.

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, has done nothing for us in Skamania County.

Let’s get someone with experience and who hasn’t signed Grover Norquist’s “Americans for Tax Reform” pledge, like Herrera Beutler.

Contact the Washington state Democratic Party; let them know you want Haugen endorsed and placed as a candidate on the party’s website.

Let’s show them that Democrats won’t put up with in-party grudges and exclusions of candidates.
