Clark College’s Sakura Festival honors Joyo friendship

Clark College’s Sakura Festival will honor historic ties of friendship between Vancouver and Joyo, Japan, at a free, public ceremony at 1 p.m. April 18 in the Royce E. Pollard Japanese Friendship Garden, next to Beacock Music Hall. The college is located at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.

The ceremony will include Yukiko Vossen performing a koto, the national instrument of Japan. The Clark College Women’s Ensemble also will perform from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Gaiser Student Center. Guests will enjoy a formal tea ceremony and a taiko drum performance. For details, visit Sakura Festival.
