Letter: Kitzhaber’s threat was idle

The Columbian
Published: April 30, 2013, 5:00pm

I chuckled as I read your April. 25 headline, “Ore. governor: No light rail, no CRC,” that was intended to elicit/evoke fear in the hearts of us taxpayers on this side of the Columbia. It reminded me of the Jan. 1973 National Lampoon magazine with a very cute dog staring in fear, with a person stage left holding a gun to the dog’s head. The caption read: “If you don’t buy this magazine, We’ll kill this dog.”

Gov. Kitzhaber got me worried; he might shoot his own foot off with statements like that.
