Village at Fisher’s Landing — Residents and staff of the Emeritus at Fisher’s Landing assisted-living home walked to end Alzheimer’s on Aug. 7 and got cold treats at the same time. The annual “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” fundraiser took place at the Fisher’s Landing Burgerville, where more than 30 seniors and others helped in the restaurant for four hours in exchange for Burgerville donating 10 percent of sales during that time. They raised an estimated $300, but the final total is still being calculated. Participants also got a chance to parade through the drive-through and pick up ice cream cones.
