Evergreen school district grants nearly $40,000

The Evergreen Public Schools College Career Technical Education department received several grants totaling nearly $40,000 from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

The grants include a $25,000 High Demand grant to purchase equipment to expand computer science coursework at Heritage High School and a $2,000 Graduation Reality and Dual Role Skills grant for the district’s teen parent program.

Several robotics grants for the following programs: $6,850 for Evergreen High School’s Robotics First team; $1,600 for Covington Middle School’s First Tech Challenge team; $1,600 for Mountain View High School’s First Tech Challenge team; $800 for the district’s elementary First Lego League teams; and $800 for Pacific Middle School’s First Lego League team.
