NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Emmanuel Tselentakis and Tim Coleman both scored 13 points each to lead NJIT in a 55-44 victory over UMass Lowell on Saturday.

Coleman was the only Highlanders starter to score in double figures. Tselentakis came off the bench to make 3-for-3 from behind the 3-point arc, and 28 of NJIT’s 55 points came from the bench.

NJIT (5-4) led by seven points at the half (28-21) and stayed ahead after outscoring the River Hawks by four points in the final 20 minutes.

Akeem Williams led all scorers with 19 points and Chad Holley followed close behind with 15 for the River Hawks (1-7). UMass Lowell shot better from the line and behind the arc, and outrebounded the Highlanders 38-32. The River Hawks struggled from the floor, making just 13 of 50 attempts and gained zero points from players off the bench, who only tried three shots.
