A Monday evening single-vehicle crash along Northeast Marine Drive in Portland killed the driver.

The driver was identified as 55-year-old Mary Augustine Yakutis-Suit of Sandy, Ore.

Portland police said it appears that the vehicle was westbound on Marine Drive when it left the roadway in the 14600 block and rolled down the embankment toward the Columbia River. The driver was thrown from the vehicle, onto the riverbank. The crash was reported shortly before 8 p.m.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is investigating.
