Steelhead fishing has been pretty slow except for a good check of boaters on the Washougal River and some fall chinook in the North Fork of the Lewis River.
Streamflows are low. The Washougal on Wednesday was at 500 cubic feet per second at Hathaway Park and the East Fork Lewis was 475 at Heisson. Those flows are about half the average for the date.
The Cowlitz at Mayfield Dam is down to 8,170 cubic feet per second. Average is 9,250.
Two Klickitat County waters have been stocked with trout.
Rowland Lake east of Bingen got 3,000 catchable-size rainbow plus 131 5-pounders and 73 averaging 10 pounds. Spearfish Lake near Dallesport was planted with 2,000 catchable-size rainbow plus 104 5-pounders.
