Fields set for synchro finals at US Diving meet

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Anna James and Jessica Parratto qualified first in preliminaries of women’s 10-meter synchronized diving on Friday at the U.S. Diving Winter Nationals.

James of Midland, Texas, and Parratto of Dover, N.H., totaled 286.98 points at the University of Texas. Murphy Bromberg of Bexley, Ohio, and Cheyenne Cousineau of Temperance, Mich., were second at 270.75. The finals are Sunday.

In women’s 3-meter synchro, Deidre Freeman of Grinnell, Iowa, and Maren Taylor of Arlington, Va., qualified first with 309.90 points. Casey Matthews of Getzville, N.Y., and Michelle Cabassol of Montgomery, Texas, were second at 289.62. The finals are Saturday.
