SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Marcus Marshall scored 18 points and Austin Ruder added 12 as the duo led Missouri State in a 68-47 victory over Alabama A&M on Saturday night.
The Bears led 26-21 at intermission after a low-scoring first half. Marshall and Ruder broke open the lead early in the second after picking up a pair of treys each in a 16-9 run, extending the lead to 11 with 15:11 left to play. Missouri State (9-2) went 16 of 18 from the line in the final 10 minutes to push ahead by as many as 23 points. Ruder made 7 of 8 free throws and the Bears finished 25 of 31 (80.6 percent).
Brandon Ellis led the Bulldogs (3-6) with eight points. Alabama A&M shot a tepid 26.8 percent (15 of 56) and scored a season-low 47 points for the second straight game.
