Wilmington (Del) edges past Md-Eastern Shore 65-62

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Herbert Dennis scored 11 points as Wilmington (Del) posted a victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday.

Rashaun Rasheed and Shaquille Monroe-Gaskins each had 11 points. Valentino Thompson and Tyrik Gass scored 10 each. The team shot 45 percent from the field and 72 percent from the line.

Louis Bell came off the bench to score 15 points and grab four rebounds for the Hawks. Francis Ezeiru and Troy Snyder each had 14.

With Wilmington leading 22-20 at 5:25 in the first period, Bell hit a 3-pointer, igniting a 15-6 run for the Hawks. They lead 35-28 at the break. Down by five with 6:13 left to play, Wilmington went 9 of 12 from the free throw line and Thompson sank a pair of layups to give it the edge in the final minute.

The loss is the fifth straight for the Hawks (2-7).
