Coyote spotted appreciating Bella Vista Park

Bella Vista — There’s a new neighbor folks should be aware of, according to the latest neighborhood newsletter: a coyote. The coyote has been seen frequenting Southeast 25th Circle and Bella Vista Road as well Bella Vista Loop and the neighborhood park. “He’s been active in the early morning hours and at dusk. He doesn’t seem to be aggressive or timid, just been hanging out,” the newsletter says. Coyotes scare people but aren’t considered dangerous, state wildlife biologist Eric Holman told The Columbian last summer — except that they are opportunistic eaters that can go after small pets. To avoid tempting a coyote, keep pets — as well as their food and your own table scraps and fragrant trash — protected. If there are any problems, Clark County Animal Control could hire a trapper.
