SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Ty Greene scored 18 points and Torrey Craig became the school’s all-time leader in 3-point field goals as South Carolina Upstate cruised past North Greenville 94-61 Tuesday.

Craig’s record-setting 3-pointer, the 256th of his career, came just over 3 minutes into the game and gave the Spartans (7-6) a lead, 10-8, that they wouldn’t relinquish.

SC Upstate used an 8-0 run, which was capped by Jodd Maxey’s dunk with 4:32 to play, to open up a 27-point lead and closed the game with a 12-0 spurt.

Keith Johnson and Chris Dean scored 16 points apiece for North Greenville (7-4), which shot 34.3 percent and committed 22 turnovers. Phillip Brown added 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Greene now sits just five points shy of becoming 19th player in SC Upstate history to join the 1,000-point club.

Ricardo Glenn and Fred Miller each scored 15 for the Spartans.
