A 22-year-old woman was injured Tuesday morning in a pickup-car crash north of Daybreak Park.

The crash, reported at 10:39 a.m. at Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast 279th Street, involved a pickup and a small car, according to Clark County Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Dawdy.

The driver of the pickup was not injured, but the woman driving the car was extricated and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Her name and condition were not released by officials.

Other details about the crash were not available from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Dawdy said that the crash involved heavy damage to the vehicles, but the woman escaped severe injury because she was wearing a seat belt.

“That was quite an impact; a person who wasn’t properly restrained probably would have been greatly injured,” Dawdy said.

He reminded motorists to wear their seat belts, as state law requires. Clark County has a 99 percent seat-belt usage rate, federal officials say; Washington is the most seat-belt-using state in America.
