Quinnipiac tops Wagner 74-69

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) — Ike Azotam scored 15 points and Ousmane Drame added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lift Quinnipiac over Wagner 74-69 Saturday in a Northeast Conference matchup.

Zaid Hearst scored 12 points, Evan Conti added 11 and Shaq Shannon had 10 for Quinnipiac (9-13, 5-5).

The Bobcats started the game on an 18-3 run and held Wagner to just 25 percent (7 of 28) shooting in the first half. Quinnipiac led at halftime 31-19.

On top 35-26 with 16:44 remaining, the Bobcats took their biggest lead of the game behind a 10-2 run. Heart capped the run with a layup to make it 45-28 with 12:24 remaining.

Though Wagner improved to 54.8 percent (17 of 31) in the second half, Quinnipiac went 29 of 36 from the foul line in the final period to seal the victory.

Latif Rivers had a season-high 29 points for Wagner (12-9, 6-4).
