ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Jordan Reves had 14 points and 11 rebounds, Brandon Edwards added 11 points and 10 boards, and Texas-Arlington took control early and coasted to a 63-48 nonconference victory over Texas-Pan American on Wednesday night.

Reves was 5 of 6 from the floor, and Edwards was 5 of 7, for the Mavericks (15-9), who have won five in a row and seven of eight. Kevin Butler chipped in 11 points.

Jesus Delgado scored 17 points and Brandon Provost had 16 for the Broncs (13-15), but the duo didn’t get much help. Delgado and Provost were a combined 12 of 23 from the floor; their teammates were 5 of 22.

The Mavericks kicked off a four-game homestand in style, scoring 17 of the game’s first 19 points and cruising from there. Texas-Arlington led 39-19 at halftime.

Texas-Arlington next hosts UC Irvine in a BracketBusters matchup Saturday.
