Bowling Green surges past Miami (Ohio) 52-44

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Jordon Crawford scored 19 points and Bowling Green shut down Miami (Ohio) in the second half of a 52-44 Mid-American Conference victory Wednesday night.

The Falcons (12-16, 6-7) trailed 31-24 at halftime but held the RedHawks (8-18, 3-10) to 13 points and 20 percent shooting (6 of 30) in the second half.

Bowling Green also controlled the boards in the second half, taking down 27 rebounds to 17 for Miami and finishing with a 45-29 edge.

A layup by Jehvon Clarke with 6:31 remaining put Bowling Green ahead to stay, 44-42, in a game that had 12 lead changes.

After a dunk by Allen Roberts, who led Miami with 16 points, brought the RedHawks within 45-44 with 3:14 left, the Falcons scored the game’s final seven points.

The loss was the sixth in a row for Miami, which won the teams’ first meeting this season 63-60 on Jan. 16.
